Emergency and Referral Services
If you have an emergency, please call us first at 613-764-1234 so we can provide first aid instructions and make recommendations base on the nature of your animal’s emergency. If the condition of your animal is critical, we will direct you to an emergency hospital right away.
For an emergency after hours, there are hospitals open 24 hours a day that have veterinarians on site at all times who can assist you and your animal.

Referral Services
The majority of your basic pet’s health needs will be met at the Nation Veterinary Hospital; however, there are circumstances where the services of a veterinary specialist may be required. Under these circumstances, we will refer you to a specialist who is a veterinarian with advanced knowledge in a particular area of veterinary medicine or surgery. In these cases, specialized equipment is often required to perform procedures that are not performed by general veterinary practitioners. Examples of veterinary specialists include ophthalmologists, oncologists and board certified surgeons.
In non-urgent cases, when applicable, we can request the care of a mobile ultrasound service and send the radiographs to a board certified radiologist.
